The center was started in September of 1978 by a group of concerned Mulvane citizens. The director was required to attend class in Wichita for the Red Cross. The committee talked to the Red Cross and obtained a grant to fix up the center. It had originally been part of the Civil Defense in Mulvane. Tables were donated and the center was started.
Originally, there were 31 members. The center has only had only 1 previous director, Lois Kemp, until she retired in 2006. The current Director for the Mulvane Senior Citizen Center is Jeri Myers. She has a lot of enthusiasm and she is busy keeping the center operating while inviting more seniors to come join in the fun and comaraderie.
The location of the Mulvane Senior Center is at 632 E. Mulvane.
