BRUSH PIT

ATTENTION MULVANE RESIDENTS

Due to severe abuse and illegal dumping at the City's brush pit, an iron gate has been installed to deter illegal dumping and limit access for non-residents who are using the brush pit.

The new policy to take brush out to the brush pit is as follows:

*    Monday thru Friday, the vendor or resident must come to the city     building DAILY and request a permit prior to dumping, except on Saturday.  (There will be no multiple day permits or permission given to anyone).

*    Proof of the city address to obtain a brush permit either by showing proof of your driver's license or for vendors the contract for the address they are working at.

The City of Mulvane has a brush pit available for City of Mulvane residents that reside inside of Mulvane's city limits.  Due to restrictions the City of Mulvane only allows Mulvane residents that live and pay city taxes to Mulvane to take their tree limbs down to the brush pit. 

The brush pit is located behind the Mulvane Waste Treatment Plant at 1441 N.
Pope Dr.  located east of the river.

Only tree limbs are allowed at the brush pit.  Grass clippings or yard rakings are
not allowed due to smoldering when the brush pit is burning as in the pictures provided.

Construction debris, boards, pallets, shingles, sheetrock are not allowed to be dumped in the brush pit.

The burn pit is open 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m from M-F and on Saturdays from
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.   During the week you must come to the city building and sign the Brush Pit Book providing your name, address and phone number.  On Saturday you can take the brush down without consent from the city building. 

The Saturday of a holiday the brush pit will not be opened.

When the brush pit is burning please stay out of that area and do not throw brush
on top of the burning fire for your own and the City's safety!!!
