What We Do

The Mulvane Senior Citizen Center delivers meals 5 days a week to the elderly shut-ins as well as serving noon meals at the senior center during the week. The center offers many different activities such as games, cards puzzles, yoga etc. The center often hosts guest speakers who come to speak to the elderly on many different issues.

Activities planned away from the center are organized by the MRC (Mulvane Recreational Commission) and the Mulvane Senior Citizen Center. With the Mulvane Senior Citizen Center and the MRC being housed under the same roof it allows more opportunities for the senior citizens. The MRC offers a walking track, fitness equipment, cardio and fitness classes and other activities without traveling to other locations to participate.

The MRC provides transportation for many of the senior activities. Some of the outings include trips to the area theaters, trips into Wichita to varies museums and other places of interest, trips to other cities and many other fun and exciting activities are planned as well.

The Senior Citizen Center distributes commodities on the last Tuesday of the month. Commodities are food items given out to help lower income citizens. Commodities are sent from Sedgwick County consisiting of non-perishable items. Contact Kaylie Mistretta at 777-4813 for more information.
