Water Well Permit Application
The property owner and the contractor acting on the behalf of the property owner shall be responsible for meeting the following minimum requirements:
- All active and inactive or abandoned water wells are to meet current state construction, reconstruction, location, and plugging standards.
- The separation distances of wells and soils or foundations, which have been treated or pretreated with subsurface pressurized application of a termicide, shall be a minimum of twenty five feet.
Pressure Water Line and sewer line requirements.
- Any building sewer line shall be two or more feet below the water line connected to the water well.
- If the sewer line is within ten feet of a water line, the sewer line is to be constructed of cast iron pipe or approved plastic pipe with solvent weld joints.
- No water well shall be constructed within any public easements or rights-of-way. 4. The separation distance from wells and sewer lines shall be a minimum of twenty five feet. When sewer lines are constructed of cast iron or plastic the separation distance shall be a minimum of 10 feet.
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to provided the owner with a copy of this agreement.
- The applicant shall notify the city within 72 hours of completion of a well so the well may be inspected.
